Materials & Innovations Night + Student Career Fair

On Tuesday, November 11th, the SAMPE Boston Chapter Materials & Innovations Night + Student Career Fair will be held!  Please make sure that it is on your calendar.  It will be a great night of fun, festivities, as well as stimulating conversations on advanced materials & processes. Come see new developments in materials and processes, visit with your old friends & colleagues, make some new ones, and get a sneak peek on what is being worked on by the next generation of advanced materials engineers and scientists!  Attendance is Free!

Vendors:  We will have a number of local vendors on hand to display new developments and offerings from companies throughout the northeast in terms of exciting new materials, processes, & equipment (including, high temperature materials, functional carbon materials, carbon fibers & yarns, commingled yarns, textile reinforcements; advanced resins; prepreg tapes, fabrics, and braids; ancillary/processing materials & technologies; automation, textile, and composite processing equipment; and much more)!  There is room for another vendor or two, so if you are interested to display, reach out to the SAMPE Boston team immediately.

Students:  We are anticipating close to two dozen posters to be presented by local students from several universities, including the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, the University of Southern Maine, and Northeastern University.  They will be competing for cash prizes sponsored by the Diamond Sponsors (Textron Systems & Boston Materials) of the SAMPE Boston Chapter.  There will be three prizes awarded, of $300, $200, & $100, for the best poster/research project as voted on by the attendees.  If you are interested in competing and presenting your research project or would like to start your own SAMPE Student Chapter, please do not hesitate to reach out and let us know.  Also, if you want to attend to network with local companies and leaders in the advanced materials community, please come along.  You will not be disappointed!

HR & Hiring Managers:  In addition to the posters, we anticipate many students to attend & display their projects.  If you are interested in getting a head start on identifying talented future research engineers and scientists for internships and employment, this is the event for you!  Never has the future been brighter for the next generation, and they will be shining at the SAMPE Materials & Innovation Night + Student Career Fair!

Attendees:  This will be premier event of the Fall sponsored by the SAMPE Boston Chapter.  Plan to attend to keep abreast of what is happening in the industry and with your friends and colleagues.  With today’s uncertain economic future, it is more important than ever to keep on top of the direction and trends in our industry, and to network with your friends and colleagues!  There is no-charge to attend.  A buffet dinner will be provided.  To RSVP, please click on the link https://forms.gle/4YdGMMsNYZEWLtxz9, or email Mike Buck @ mbuck111@outlook.com.

At our event in the spring, one of attendees commented on how “wonderful it was to be able to one-stop shop and find several companies within a short hour drive from his plant that could help solve problems on a current project that he was working on.”  SAMPE is your partner to support your future career growth and help you solve your most challenging problems!

The event will be held in the North Ballroom of The Establishment Restaurant, at 75 Princeton Street, North Chelmsford, MA 01863.  The event will begin at 5:00 and dinner will be served from 5:00 – 7:00.  Dinner will consist of a buffet along with various appetizers, salad, pizza, and soft drinks.  There will also be a cash bar.  The student awards will be presented at 8:00, with the event wrapping up shortly thereafter.

We will look forward to see you there.  If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any member of the SAMPE Boston Leadership team for more information.
