Junior Process Technician/Engineer GT Solar Incorporated is currently seeking junior level process technician/engineer support process development and general engineering activities. This person will utilize her/his knowledge, skills, and most importantly energy and willingness to learn to take on challenges to support GT’s technology and engineering development on multiple fronts. Travel for this role might be needed (up to 25%). Key Duties & Responsibilities · Work with existing products and prototype to understand the requirements of the industry and GT customers. · Support and help to execute process development, sustaining engineering, and systems engineering tasks. · Be able to understand the multi-physics system, collect and analyze data, and create experimentation plan and report. · Be able to build, conduct trouble shooting, and operate capital equipment. · Be able to drive small scale design of experiment project from start to finish under guidance. · Help to develop continuous improvement in processes and equipment. · Be able to assist in the creation and maintain complex documentation sets, involving highly technical material, for training purposes under limited supervision. · Help to perform simultaneous task and project coordination for multiple projects. · Must be able to work independently with limited supervision. Competencies · The ideal candidate should also have competency in Design of Experiments of materials and hardware evaluation. · Action Orientation / Initiative · Communication Skills (Presentation & Written) · Organization Skills · Strategic Agility & Planning · Business Acumen · Creativity and Integrity · Approachability & Internal Customer Focus Requirements · Associates or Bachelors degree with a solid engineering background, knowledge base and skill set. · Good at using MS Excel and writing Excel macros to analyze data. · Be able to use and program in Matlab. (experience in Matlab Simulink preferred) · Knowledge and experience high temperature materials processing technologies preferred. · Must have familiarity with DOE packaging. · Provide design, process optimization, and/or production support. · Good interpersonal and communication skills. · Good analytical, project planning, and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills. · Comfortable in a manufacturing environment. · 0 to 5 years of industrial experience in a research, engineering, or manufacturing environment. Your ability to thrive in a flexible team environment, demonstrate critical decision-making skills, and have strong interpersonal and communication abilities will ensure your success in this role.
