TOPIC: Polyphenylene Sulfide and Liquid Crystal Polymers
Abstract: Polyphenylene Sulfide and Liquid Crystal Polymers are two high performance polymers that are used to fabricate filaments with unique physical properties. These include excellent chemical durability, temperature resistance, flame retardance, good dielectric properties, high tenacity and excellent wear characteristics. This presentation describes the chemistry of each polymer, and resultant fiber properties. Examples of several high performance applications are also provided.
