From Nanoparticles to Nanocomposites

UMass, Lowell - 4 day course - June 15 - 18, 2009

The University of Massachusetts, Lowell, MA will hold a fascinating 4 day course on polymer nanocomposites. This course

"From Nanoparticles to Nanocomposites"  is part of the NSF Summer Institute on Nanomechanics, Nanomaterials and Micro/Nanomanufacturing co-organized by Prof. Julie Chen (Mechanical Engineering) and Asst. Prof. Daniel Schmidt (Plastics Engineering / SAMPE Student Chapter Advisor).

This is the first time such a course is being held on the east coast. The goal is to get folks from academia, industry and government together to provide excellent tutorials. What better chance do you have for networking, finding collaborators, identifying areas of mutual interest and potential funding opportunities?  This slate of six world-class speakers represents a unique opportunity. It may be a long time if ever before they are all together again.

Learn more about what University Massachusetts, Lowell does. Meet attendees from all over the country (40+ confirmed so far representing 19 different states and Puerto Rico).

In addition to the short course, this is also an opportunity to tour UMass Lowells's facilities and observe / participate in hands-on demos being set up to complement the lecturers.  Discounts, as well as the option to be an official sponsor, are available for any company electing to send multiple representatives. Please forward this as widely as you see fit!
